Ceramics.

At 13 I joined a school Pottery Club and began a love for clay. Since then I have dabbled, but never very seriously (work/children/life!). Then I retired, which enabled me to rekindle the love, and became a member at the Ceramics Academy in South Molton - the rest is history.

I am inspired and excited by nature, especially seed pods, but also other natural forms such as rock pools. I work in stoneware and porcelain, using hand building techniques only: pinch pots, slabs, coils and moulds. My work is often tactile, as I love texture, so the feel of my pots is as important to me as the look. I am passionate about ceramics because the inspirations and possibilities are just endless.
