Contemporary & Mixed Media Art.

Kathy is a Contemporary & Mixed Media Artist living and working from her studio in North Devon. She began working in mosaics over two decades ago, more recently this has evolved, combining her love of textiles and collage into the mixed media work she produces.

Mosaics pieces are formed by using the “direct” mosaic making process.

Mixed media work involves hand embroidery, collage and wire work. Her designs are in response to the materials she uses, a starting point could be a piece of vintage china, fabric design or threads which, informs each unique item Kathy makes. Gold leaf features in much of her work.

Inspiration comes from her travels to India, and observations from nature, in particular plant and seed structures. Kathy runs workshops throughout the South west for community groups and individuals of all ages and abilities.
